Robotic inspection
See the condition. Understand the consequence.
We develop inspection workflows that help operators collect repeatable observations, compare asset condition over time and connect findings to maintenance decisions.
What we aim for
Three results from every inspection workflow.
- 01
Repeatable observations
Linked to specific assets, so a condition can be compared over time.
- 02
Clear evidence
Prepared for qualified review, with the context of the asset.
- 03
Connected follow-up
Findings, maintenance and reinspection kept in one line of work.
Proposed workflow
Six stages, one loop.
Plan
Define the assets, the route and what to capture at each checkpoint.
Capture
The platform collects observations along the route.
Check
Each observation is checked for quality and compared with earlier rounds.
Review
A qualified reviewer confirms what needs action.
Follow up
Confirmed findings become maintenance work with an owner.
Reinspect
A later round shows the result of the intervention.
Software
Cortex Robotix Inspect
We are developing a software layer for inspection missions, asset evidence and maintenance follow-up.
In development
Asset register
Assets, checkpoints and what to observe at each, kept as one reference.
Captures
Observations from each mission, attached to their checkpoint and asset.
Observation quality
Whether each capture is usable, unreadable or missing.
Review
Qualified reviewers confirm, reject or escalate findings, with the history beside them.
Closure
A finding stays open until the follow-up is done and a reinspection shows the result.
Evidence
What an observation can contain
It depends on the sensors fitted and on the configuration validated for the site.
- Visual imaging
The condition of a surface, a label, a gauge or an indicator.
- Thermal imaging
Temperature differences on a surface that may point to a condition worth checking.
- Acoustic sensing
Sound from equipment and its surroundings, compared with earlier rounds.
- Instrument reading
The value shown by a local gauge or display.
- Gas and environment measurement
Gas concentration, humidity or air conditions, where a suitable sensor is fitted.
Demonstration
One inspection round, step by step
Choose a scenario, start the round and move it one observation at a time. Select a checkpoint to see its result and the next step.
| Point | Fictional asset | Observation | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| P01 | Cooling pump | Thermal measurement | Observation recorded |
| P02 | Local gauge | Instrument reading | Observation recorded |
| P03 | Motor housing | Acoustic evidence | Review required |
| P04 | Access corridor | Visible image | Observation recorded |
| P05 | Indicator panel | Visible image | Observation recorded |
| P06 | Service door | Visible image | Observation recorded |

The pilot
What an inspection pilot includes
The scope, equipment, responsibilities and success criteria are agreed for each pilot.
First environments:
- Site and task assessment.
- Platform and sensor selection.
- Inspection route and checkpoint definition.
- Evidence collection and review workflow.
- A scoped connection to the maintenance process.
- Evaluation and recommendations for the next stage.
We agree the pilot's success criteria before deployment and evaluate the results against a documented baseline. Robotic inspection supports qualified review; it does not replace mandatory inspections, expert assessments or a specialist's decision.
Next step
Discuss an inspection pilot.
Tell us which assets, which site and what should change after the inspection.
